Things to note when transporting diesel generator sets

The diesel generator set is a large-scale power generation equipment. Before the unit leaves the factory, it will undergo a series of routine tests. Only after it passes the test can it be delivered to the customer. Due to the large size and heavy weight of the unit, comprehensive and appropriate safety protection measures must be taken when moving or transporting the diesel generator set, and relevant execution requirements must be followed to avoid damage to the generator equipment. Below, Hechai Power has summarized the details about the matters needing attention during the transportation of diesel generator sets.

1. Before transporting the generator set

1. Check and remove the relevant cables connecting the diesel generator set and various components.

2. Seal the nozzles of the diesel generator set well.

3. Connect the cable to the gas pipe and seal the nozzle.

4. Before packaging, check the oil cap and fuel cap to make sure they are tightened.

5. Do not use the lifting lugs on the engine or generator to lift the unit. Use the lifting lugs provided with the unit.

6. If a crane is used for transfer, the stability of the wire rope and spreader must be ensured. The wire rope can be hung at the relevant position of the generator and on the hook of the generator chassis to make it stronger and more reliable. If the hook of the lifting equipment is more than 1 meter higher than the plane of the exhaust manifold, attention should also be paid to the appropriate length to ensure that the wire rope does not come into direct contact with equipment components.

7. Before hoisting and transporting, confirm that the generator set has been packaged securely.

2. When transporting the generator set

1. Pay attention to protecting the control panel of the generator set. Shanghai cotton or plastic film can be pasted to prevent the touch screen cover from cracking when touched.

2. The generator should be firmly fixed in the car to avoid loosening or even damaging its components due to bumps and vibrations.

3. When the diesel generator set is being transported, prevent anyone or anything from being on top of the generator set to cause the generator set to be stressed.

4. In order to prevent the generator from being exposed to wind and sun, the equipment must be safely packaged, such as adding wooden boxes and lining with rainproof cloth, etc.

5. During the installation process, you need to understand the equipment layout of the construction site, understand the location and direction of the site, and the equipment transportation must be smooth.

3. Loading and unloading generator sets

1. When using forklifts or hoisting equipment, be careful to prevent the equipment from tipping or falling to the ground, causing damage.

2. The radiator, air intake pipe, exhaust pipe and electrical components are relatively fragile parts of the generator. When loading and unloading, care must be taken to prevent collisions and avoid unnecessary losses.
